Guide: Brad McFall

Brad grew up fishing the Middle and North Forks of the Stanislaus River, and East Carson River as well as the small Freestone streams in the area.Brad moved to Mammoth Lakes in 1999 because of what it has to offer, an outdoor playground. Brad spent the first two years studying the diverse waters that we have in our surrounding area. In the spring of 2002 Brad was hired at The Trout Fitter and attended the Clearwater Guide School. That summer Brad spent many days shadowing the Senior guides atThe Trout Fly and The Trout Fitter, soaking up every bit of knowledge he could squeeze out of them.

Brad truly takes pride in teaching people the different arts of fly fishing. Brad really enjoys giving "casting clinics" from the first timer to the very advanced caster, and is currently working on getting his FFF casting certification. And of course, taking people out in our wonderful area and showing them our beautiful streams. From the technical spring creek tactics of Hot Creek and the Upper Owens River, to the beautiful landscape and wild fish of the scenic San Joaquin River, to where Brad spends most of his time going after the trophy Brown Trout of the East Walker River. No matter what you're after Brad is here to cater to your needs and give you that wonderful outdoor experience in a beautiful area.

 Guide: Ty Seay
Ty@mammothflyfishing.com

Living in mammoth since 1999, Ty's focus and studies have been on the Eastern Sierra; from hiking far into the backcountry searching for wild thriving trout of all sizes and species, to floating the rivers and lakes of the forecountry searching for memmories and of course... more trout.

His formative years were spent on the coast in Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties chasing waves and fish with family and friends. Any holiday or free weekend they were boating, fishing, and skiing on the lakes of the the Sierra's West slope, not to mention the unforgettable trips to Lakes Powell and Mead. Ty's father set him up for a world of adventure and life in the mountains. Studying Forestry right out of high school (Newbury Park), made Ty want to run for the hills, the Sierra that is. Now Mammoth is his home. Shortly after coming here, he met up with Brad and Terry; from there, the unproclaimed mission to learn about all the waters, mountains, bugs and critters their county and beyond has to offer, began. The many seasoned guides of the Trout Fly took Ty under there wings 6 years ago and helped mold him in to the professional guide he is today.

Having experienced the initial intimidation of fly-fishing himself, Ty believes he can help all who are willing, to ease into the sport comfortably. The ages of those he's guided has run the gammet from 6 to 82 years of age. What he loves most about his work, besides the obvious, is the mix of people, families, couples, kids and groups. With whom he gets to share his craft and passion. Ty has been fortunate to have had wonderful clients from all over the world, he says, the two things that never seem to be lacking are the adventure and fun.
